Bronté embraces SPF50 sun protection
Hats are a great way to protect your skin against the damaging sun rays while enjoying time outdoors. Plus it does not wear off as sunscreen does. But not every hat provides the same level of sun protection. The sun protection factor is based on various factors, such as the weave of the straw and the width of the brim, among others.
Bronté's super fine braided hats have been tested through Textile Lab, the independent test laboratory that is responsible for SPF testing and ratings in The Netherlands. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and considers both UVA and UVB protection. Our selection of straw hats have been given the highest achievable rating, namely SPF 50. SPF50 means that only up to 2% of UV radiation can penetrate the straw, making our hats a great and safe option for enjoying the sun.
Why Is It Important
Dermatologists agree that the best way of protecting your skin is by not exposing it to direct sunlight for too long in the first place. By keeping your skin out of the sun, you can prevent skin cancer, premature ageing and sunburns.
