Ceremonial Hats
Ceremonial Hats for Women
With ceremonial hats, we refer to headwear used for official occasions.
It can be a wedding, a building opening, a vernissage, or a ball. Usually, the dress code is relatively formal in look. One needs to be aware of the etiquette and dress code for the event. Check out by contacting the host or other invites. In addition, there are significant cultural differences that you want to know.
Cultural Differences and ceremonial headwear
An Italian wedding usually starts late afternoon, and guests seldom wear wide-brim ceremonial hats. In countries with royal families, like the UK and The Netherlands, it is common for all female guests to wear formal headwear.
When choosing your hat, consider your position within the event. If you are the bride's sister, you can be bolder in colour and hat style.
However, if you are the girlfriend of a friend of the groom, you want to be more subtle in the look.
Different sorts of ceremonial hats
You can find fascinators, pillboxes and other ceremonial hats in various sizes and colours.
At Bronté, there are subtle pieces like the Anne: a petit fascinator made of curled sinamay straw and little feathers. You can also check out the veiled fascinators like Veerle or Sheila. Veerle has a full veil that you can use down or move up. A veil always adds a mysterious tingle to the face of a woman. If you want to sip from your glass, you pleat the cover away from your face. Sheila is a disc fascinator, trimmed with leave shaped feathers and a sinamay bow. The veil of Sheila is a bit shorter but just as versatile in use. This veil is a stunning detail. All fascinators are mounted on a comfortable headband the same colour as the design: after 10 minutes, you have forgotten that you are wearing it and will turn heads at the party.
The wide-brim ceremonial hats usually are more classic in look than a fascinator. A wide-brim Audrey Hepburn hat or other stunning design will give you grandeur if you are tall. If you are petite, choose an asymmetric style, like a disc hat, as it will give you height and grace.
Practical
Pack your fascinator, disc or hat securely in a hat box or other box if you need to travel to a formal event. The straw or other material is usually delicate.
