Hat Styles
Our mission at Bronte is to develop headwear that elevates your everyday.
We do not seek the extravaganza of a hat design that is beautiful, but that is so limited in use. We like you to wear your Bronte hat time after time, season after season.
Your Bronté hat should become dear to you and be your loyal companion on any journey.
We focus on the function, the proportions and the pragmatic aspects of wearing a Bronté hat.
In that sense, our caps, berets, beanies and fedora hats are for daily use.
Our customers' feedback means a lot to us and helps us develop and improve the collection. Through our style experts in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf, we hear what customers look for in headwear: preferences in colours, materials and types of hats change over time, and we adequately adjust to minimize waste of fabrics.
How to find the perfect hat for you?
Finding the right hat for your face shape can be challenging.
Face shape and personality vary greatly and influence a specific hat style's suitability.
It helps a lot if you know your type of face shape. And use your intuition when choosing a hat: do you feel comfortable and confident wearing a particular hat? And does it flatter you?
Chin and cheekbones are essential aspects of the shape of a face.
When it comes to face shapes, there are five primary shapes.
*Long face: we advise focusing on hats with a shallow crown and medium to wide-brim hat styles. Try a slightly tilted position.
*Square face: choose a hat style with a rounded crown to soften the angular lines.
*Round face: seek an angular or a-symmetric hat shape with a medium or wide(r) brim to elongate the face. Or try an upturned brim, like a cloche.
*Oval face: this face will look great with every hat type.
*Heart shape: as the face is determined with a narrow chin and relatively wide cheekbones, a straight or angled wide-brimmed hat will flatter the face as it re-balances the proportions. Regarding caps, seek a cap style with volume, like a newsboy or balloon cap.
Other aspects to consider when selecting headwear are the colour of your eyes and the tone of your skin and hair.
Blue and green eyes look great with green-blueish hats and caps. The colour of the hat gives an excellent focus to the eyes.
The hue of the skin has a substantial impact on the colour choice of the hat/cap. Make sure the colour does not fade you, as a pale grey may do.
