Hat Styles
Our mission at Bronté is to develop headwear that elevates your everyday.
We are not looking for the extravagance of a hat design that is beautiful but so limited in use. We want you to wear your Bronté hat time after time, season after season. Your Bronté hat should become dear to you and be your faithful companion on every journey.
We focus on refined proportions and the pragmatic aspects of wearing a Bronté hat. In that sense, our caps, berets, beanies and fedora hats are for everyday use.
The feedback from our customers means a lot to us and helps us develop and improve the collection. Through our style experts in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf, we hear what customers are looking for in headwear: preferences in colours, materials and types of hats change over time, and we adapt accordingly to minimize fabric waste.
How do you find the perfect hat for you?
Finding the right hat for your face shape can be challenging. Face shape and personality vary greatly and influence the appropriateness of a specific hat style. It helps a lot if you know your type of face shape. And use your intuition when choosing a hat: do you feel comfortable and confident wearing a certain hat? And does it flatter you? Chin and cheekbones are essential aspects of a face's shape.
When it comes to face shapes, there are five main shapes
* Long face: we recommend focusing on hats with a shallow crown and hats with a medium to wide brim. Try a slightly tilted position.
* Square face: choose a hat style with a rounded crown to soften the angular lines.
* Round face: look for an angular or asymmetrical hat shape with a medium or wide brim to elongate the face. Or try a raised edge, such as a cloche.
* Oval face: this face looks great with any hat type.
* Heart shape: since the face is characterized by a narrow chin and relatively wide cheekbones, a wide-brimmed straight or slanted hat will flatter the face as it rebalances the proportions. When it comes to caps, look for a cap with volume, such as a newsboy or balloon cap.
Your natural colours Other aspects to consider when selecting headwear are the colour of your eyes and the tone of your skin and hair. Blue and green eyes look great with green-blueish hats and caps. The colour of the hat gives an excellent focus to the eyes. The hue of the skin has a major influence on the colour choice of the hat/cap. Make sure the colour does not fade you, as a pale grey may do.
