Wool Felt
Wool Felt headwear
At Bronté, we love the smooth feeling and warmth you notice from wearing a felt hat in the winter. We carefully select the best quality of wool felt for our fedora, trilby, and cloche hats: felt should be even on the surface and consistent in thickness and finish. That's why we opt for wool felt made at the best European felt factory, Fepsa, in Portugal. We select our Pantone colours and have the felts dyed especially for us and our colour scheme for the winter season.
Felt will keep you warm The advantage of wearing felt hats and caps in the winter is, first of all, the warmth that you feel. Felt prevents the body heat from leaving via your head. That's why those who work outside( soldiers, police officers) usually wear felt headwear. Another advantage is wearing your felt fedora or cloche hat in the rain. One exception: light-coloured felts may show stains due to dirty rain. We advise against wearing beige or pastel-coloured felt in the rain.
Felt Fedora Hats
We invite you to discover our wide range of fedora hats, like Cleo, Lauren, Caitlyn, Claar and Frederique. Our fedora hats range from medium wide-brim pieces with leather or ribbon trimmings like Cleo to fedora hat styles with large brims and rather expressive designs like the Frederique.
Felt Cloche Hats
Or, if you prefer the rounded cloche hat shapes inspired by the very feminine look of the thirties, look at Belle, Sophia, Jessica and Natalie.
Some hats have short brims at the back to improve your comfort while wearing a chunky winter scarf. The cloche hat Sophia, Belle and Jessica are developed with this comfort argument in mind.
Felt Trilby Hats
For the trilby hats, we mention a favourite hat style of many customers, the Jade hat. Jade is our Greta Garbo hat style: the medium-sized brim is slightly asymmetric and covers one eye mysteriously. The crown of Jade also shows an asymmetry that completes the trilby look.
Felt Caps
At Bronté, we develop felt caps that have a more casual expression compared to a fedora or a cloche: check out the preshaped Fay cap or the baseball cap called London. Both felt caps sit deeply on your head to avoid the wind taking hold of your favourite headwear.
Felt Berets
The latest felt cap Mare is an attractive and structured felt: the well-designed proportions fit make it a comfortable felt beret and creative in looks. The Mare is another asymmetric hat shape: at Bronté, we cherish asymmetry as it makes you look taller.
